In this tutorial you will learn how to make yarn out of nylon netting. This yarn can be used to create a heavy duty double-sided scrubby. It also does not scratch and can be sanitized in the dishwasher.

SUPPLIES
Size I 5.5mm hook - or size needed to obtain gauge
Large eye tapestry needle (16)
5 yards of nylon netting (any color) -This will make 3 large or 5 small scrubbies
Rotary cutter or scissors

NOTES
Worked in the round
Sl st at the end of each round to join
Any nylon netting will work, but the firm will have more of a scrubbing affect

MAKING NYLON YARN

Fold fabric over multiple times and lay flat. Cut into strips as shown in Fig. A

Rd 1: ch3, dc12 into mr, sl st to join (13 dc)

Rd 2: ch3, *2dc inc* rep 12x, sl st to join (25 dc)

Rd 3: ch3, *dc1, 2dc inc* rep 12x, sl st to join (37 dc)

Rd 4: ch1, sc36 in the blo, sl st to join (36 sc)

From this point on you will be working in the blo and red will not be joined

Rd 5: ch1, *sc2, sc2tog* rep 9x, no not join

Rd 6: *sc1, sc2tog* rep 9x

Rd 7: *sc1, sc2tog* rep 6x

Rd 8: *sc2tog* rep 4x

Fasten off leaving a long tail

Sew closed and use excess to secure top and bottom together. Weave in and out of scrubby until it is firm -Fig. E
